Ohio Department of Health Cultural Competence Resources: Information on the efforts of the Ohio Department of Mental Health to improve cultural competence.

Ohio Commission on Minority Health: The Commission was established in 1987. The Commission is interested in funding projects which are innovative, culturally sensitive and specific in their approach toward reduction of the incidence and severity of those diseases or conditions which are responsible for excess morbidity and mortality in minority populations.

Minority Health Roundtable: Minority Health Roundtable is a collaboration of constituent organizations interested in promoting issues related to health in Akron, Ohio.

Ohio Minority Health Institute: The Ohio Minority Health Institute (OMHI) is a national training program consisting of a training and support center focusing on administrative and health knowledge capacity building for minority community-based organizations.

Multiethnic Advocates for Cultural Competence: The mission of MACC Inc is to enhance the quality of care in Ohio’s behavioral health system and to incorporate cultural competence into systems and organizations that provide care to Ohio’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations.

Refugee Health

Ohio Refugee Services: The Ohio Refugee Services Program based in The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).

Ohio Refugee Health Initiative
: Information on health services that are available to refugees in Ohio.

Ohio Refugee Advisory Council: The Ohio Refugee Advisory Council (ORAC), created in 1981, serves at the invitation of the Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to advise the Department on matters relating to refugee resettlement.  Meetings usually consist of a discussion of current Ohio refugee issues and one or more  informative/ educational presentations.  Visitors are welcome.

Refugee Health Screening Providers: A list of providers that are contracted to provide newly arrived refugees with comprehensive health screenings and referrals for follow-up care.
